The author uses the pseudonym Alyssa Phillips to protect the privacy of family and friends in her collection of meditations on the challenges and gifts encountered in relationships with addicted loved ones. Under her given name she has written devotionals over the years that have appeared in various anthologies, and she has reviewed hundreds of books in the area of inspirational literature. She has a special interest in the intersections between psychology and faith and is the author of two previous books that explore some of these issues.
A graduate of Harvard University, Alyssa holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from the University of Saint Joseph. She has worked extensively with addicted men and women, serving as a volunteer through several church-based ministries. She lives with her husband in New England.
