Jane J. Young
Jane Young and her husband, Garland, live at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. This setting invites spiritual reflection, and Jane partnered with Gerrie Grimsley to design “quiet spaces” (stations for contemplation) for several SOULfeast conferences sponsored by The Upper Room. Jane’s and Gerrie’s collaboration in creating the quiet spaces for conference participants led them to write Contemplative by Design: Creating Quiet Spaces for Retreats, Workshops, Churches, and Personal Settings.
A very different set of experiences had produced her earlier book. Following the challenge of working with several estates, she wrote Settling Estates in North Carolina: A Step-by-Step Guide. Jane is a retired primary, elementary, and high school teacher whose interests, in addition to writing, include music and dance.
