New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Aging is part of God's plan, says author Missy Buchanan—and it's a gift, not punishment.

Buchanan reminds us that aging is a matter of perspective—if we fix our eyes on negative images of growing old, we will miss the treasures right before us. But when we focus on God, we will discover an abiding joy that comes only with a long life.

Aging Faithfully is divided into four weekly themes:

  • Accepting the Challenges of Aging
  • Finding God's Purpose in Aging
  • Overcoming the Temptations of Aging
  • Discovering the Joys of Aging

Each week contains daily Bible-based readings, scripture, prayers, and suggestions for practical application or deeper thought. At the back of the book you'll find reflection questions that can be used for group discussion or further individual exploration.

Let each day's reading wash over you. Prepare your heart to discover what it means to age joyfully—and faithfully.

A great resource for Sunday school classes and small groups! Also makes a great gift for homebound persons.

Early in life my mom taught me how my faith would always comfort me. Now later in life her strong faith is a shining example of what it truly means to age faithfully. Missy has once again beautifully captured the joy and challenges of aging. Missy, I will forever be touched by your friendship with my mom. Your words bring her as much comfort as her faith.
—Robin Roberts, coanchor, *Good Morning America**

*Aging Faithfullly: 28 Days of Prayer** fills a much-needed void, as there are not many realistic, heartfelt, and life-applicable devotions available for older adults. The devotions and prayers give special attention to the different facets of aging, but most important, they always remind the reader of the relationship God continues to have with them. This book is a perfect resource for individuals or groups and is sure to make an impact in the lives of older adults.

—Rev. Renée Kowlessar Chaplain, The Commons on Marice, Eagan, Minnesota

In *Aging Faithfully,** Missy Buchanan presents in simple, straightforward fashion the combining of scripture, prayer, and action steps. In setting up the day’s spiritual launch she reminds the reader that aging offers many yet-to-be discovered treasures.

In a culture that glorifies youth, *Aging Faithfully** speaks directly to the issues many older adults are facing.Without denying the realities of aging, Missy Buchanan encourages older adults to live every day to the fullest. Well-written and biblically based, *Aging Faithfully** offers hope, inspiration, and sometimes a necessary challenge to those in their later years. This is more than just a book to passively read. Missy fully engages the reader by offering scriptures for meditation, daily prayers, and practical suggestions to implement. I highly recommend this book.
