The Upper Room Disciplines 2016: A Book of Daily Devotions

The Upper Room Disciplines, an award-winning devotional guide*, brings together 53 diverse voices to share messages of hope, challenge, and joy. Each daily reading offers a scripture passage, a meditation on the day’s scripture (selected from the Revised Common Lectionary), and a closing prayer or suggestion for reflection.

Authors for 2015 include J. Dana Trent, Thomas Thangaraj, Paul Escamilla, Eileen Campbell-Reed, Michael W. Waters, James Harnish, Kristen E. Vincent, Jane Herring, Marjorie Hewitt Suchocki, Trevor Hudson, L. Roger Owens, Elizabeth Canham, and others.

Also available in Enlarged Print.

*The Upper Room Disciplines 2014 won International Book of the Year in the Christian Living category.

My life and faith journey have been blessed, nourished, and nurtured by Disciplines, both in the printed format that a friend gave to me in the 1990s, introducing me to Disciplines and to daily devotional reading and prayer and meditation, and in the digital format that has evolved into the eBook before me on my iPad.

As I engage now in thinking of all for which I am grateful, I am especially grateful for Disciplines, and for Upper Room Books’ commitment to servant leadership and determination that has blessed us readers with a daily reminder of the Word of God, the love of God, and the Spirit of God!

Help Me Not to Be Discouraged

Lord, help me not to be discouraged or indifferent to the happenings around me. May my life reflect your love and light to a hurting world. Amen.

We have been using the upper room disciplines for over 20 years now in our men’s group. I really liked what you did with scripture overview in the 2014 book, but we did not see it in the 2015 book. I always like the diversity of authors also, I think 2015 is the first year there was not at least one catholic author.

It would be great if you could develop an app for this publications 🙂

Hi, Tavis. Sorry to be so long in replying.
The Upper Room Disciplines is available in ePub and Kindle formats, but we don’t currently have an app. Food for thought for the future! Look in 2015 for Upper Room Books shorts, which offer one week of Disciplines.
